Common Question: Where's the search bar?


If you're signed in, you can search. If you're not signed in then search is disabled. People were complaining earlier about this as if it was a bug, but it isn't and I changed the gallery to reflect that.

Anonymous members *cannot* search for anything.

Oh and if you're signed in you also get to leave your name with comments, chat on the forum, and most importantly upload/download and change tags which helps our site organize and grow.

It's not that bad, but i prefer the old theme...

I also preferred the old Theme i find this one difficult to Navigate and i have yet to find a search feature on this new one i really loved the Search made things easy to find.

the old theme, this forum's theme, looked very professional. The new theme looks on par with any old hentai site with mediocre pictures, which is not what this site is.

The white color in contrast to red isn't very appealing and the font is big and blocky, not to mention the overly pixellated "LU.SCIO.US" title. I don't know why there's a picture of Yoko in the background. since this is a hentai site, the background picture should at least be some girl with no clothes, like that one pink haired girl you guys had on the front page almost every day.

I can't believe the search option was taken away. Every site should have a good search bar. How are we going to find that one manga we've heard about if we cant search for the name? Also, i liked the "tabbed" searching this site used to have. now it has given tags to the right. what if our fetish isnt on there?

Despite all of this, I'll still be coming to Lu.scio.us to get all my manga, because this site has almost EVERYTHING, but i assure you that anyone browsing the internet trying to find a good hentai site is looking for one that looks professional.

My thoughts are along the same lines. The new theme is too... bold, almost garish IMO. The old theme (which the forum maintains atm) is maybe a bit too subdued but works fine. You do know the old ssying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," right? That, in a nutshell, is my take on the redesign.
EDIT: What happened to the seondary nav bar in the gallery? The one that used to have the search button on it? Did you disable searching by simply disabling that bar completely? I make substantial used of the internal link list button. Primarily to get to my mailbox.

I would also agree with Veyn.

The aesthetics of this new design is dashing, bright, simpler, bolder.. Which makes it unprofessional.

The theme also seems not really relevant to this grand kingdom of hentai - not the best expression of "Lu.Scio.us".

I feel that the functionality is the most important part of the design above all. It must be effective and efficient. I don't know if the search function was just accidentally left out, but it is necessary for any large database

this loads way faster on my dial-up but there's a little two much white this style looks more like a Beta version than the last. like the new features though like under the HENTAI tab. but WHERE THE HELL IS SEARCH?! I used that a lot! Overall I like it but it needs some touching up. Keep up the good work.

Maybe I'm just stupid cuz I've been using this site for a long time and I never knew there was a search bar, I just made a sum of different tags. Anyhoo, on to the theme. The red and white are too flashy. Needs more shade in it I guess. I'm all for a new design, keeps everything fresh. But it shouldn't be so bright. First I thought that I had gotten a wrong site or one of those flashing banners about advertisement. It needs some finishing touches, but please don't go back to the older style. Also, I guess that if I had used the search engine I would have been happy with it and now that it's gone maybe I would have bitched a lot. People have a point to want it back.
